The Legend
The Lernaean Hydra is a serpent with multiple heads that appears in Greek mythology. This creature is immortal, possessing the characteristic that when one head is cut off, two more heads grow back in its place. The Hydra lived in the swamps of Lerna, where it posed a threat to many heroes and warriors. The Hydra was one of the 12 labors of Heracles (Hercules), who was tasked with defeating this monster. To overcome the immortal Hydra, Heracles used fire to cut off its heads and burned the stumps to prevent two new heads from growing back. Ultimately, he defeated the Hydra, and the arrows made from its blood would later play an important role in his battles.
