The Legend
Näkki is a water spirit in German mythology and folklore, often known to take on human form and possess shapeshifting abilities. They are generally depicted as male and are said to lure women and children to lakes or streams with enchanting music, leading to drowning. However, not all legends portray them as malevolent; in many stories, they do not cause harm and sometimes agree to live with humans who have fallen in love with them.
